Micyra Kisha Williams, 27, was booked into the Denton County jail Wednesday on one count of murder. Her bail was set at $500,000.

Police were called early Feb. 12 to a home in the 2800 block of Quietwater Drive where a shooting had been reported. They found 31-year-old Caleb Butler-Pearson dead inside; he had been shot in the head.

Williams told officers that a violent altercation had taken place between her and her husband, police said. She was taken to a hospital to injuries she had sustained during the incident.

Police said that four small children were home at the time of the shooting and that Child Protective Services had been notified.

The murder warrant for Williams was obtained after “a thorough investigation and consultation with the Denton County district attorney,” police said.

An attorney for Williams was not listed in court records.
