Man arrested after incident in Cloverleaf; no shots fired at deputy

A man was arrested Friday morning after an incident that began with a call of a suspicious vehicle in the Cloverleaf area and reports that a gunman fired in the direction of a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

No shots were fired in the incident in the 13400 block of Castilian Drive, near Uvalde Road, authorities now say.

Deputies responded to the suspicious vehicle call about 9 a.m. A man who was believed to be armed fled when a deputy approached him, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

“The vehicle is still there,” Gonzalez said earlier in a tweet. “An active search is underway for the suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing camouflage pants and red shirt.”

Another person was detained in the incident, but further information was not available.

The incident comes one week after Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal was shot and killed during a traffic stop near Cypress
