Man dies in four-car crash that shut down I-10 lanes

A man sitting in traffic on Interstate 10 died Saturday morning after another car slammed into him, police said.

The impact sent the car careening forward into the back of another car, which was subsequently jolted forward into a pickup truck. The car that had failed to slow down also continued forward and struck the back of an 18-wheeler.

The four-car crash temporarily shut down the interstate’s eastbound lanes overnight. The Harris County District Attorney’s office believes the driver who caused the crash was intoxicated, ABC 13 reported.

The driver left her vehicle and was picked up down the road by responders, who transported her to the hospital with minor injuries.
