As Doucet’s car flipped several times, the SUV then careened into other vehicles in the intersection.
Both women in the SUV were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland. One of the women had to be resuscitated several times while the other had blunt-force trauma to her neck, Gilliland said.
Two more people in the crash suffered non-life threatening injuries. Doucet managed to escape his wrecked car and ran for Texas Roadhouse eatery with a deputy chasing after him, Gilliand said.
He is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid.
He is being held in the Harris County Jail with no bail amount.
