Man hospitalized in box-cutter attack at Dallas Greyhound bus station

A man was hospitalized after a suspect slashed him in the throat with a box cutter Monday night at a Greyhound bus station in Downtown Dallas, police said.

It happened around 11:35 p.m. at the bus station in the 200 block of South Lamar Street near Commerce Street.

According to police, the 20-year-old suspect was talking about people out to get him when he approached the person in front of him and attacked him with the box cutter as they got ready to board a bus.

Bystanders and security guards tackled the suspect and handcuffed him, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested and taken to Dallas County Jail, police said.
