Man killed in possible road rage shooting on Highway 6

A man was found gunned down early Tuesday morning in the middle of Texas Highway 6 in what detectives believe could be a road rage shooting.

Deputies rushed to the intersection of Texas Highway 6 and Forest Trails in the Copperfield neighborhood shortly after midnight and found the victim, only identified as an adult male, lying motionless in the street next to his black pickup truck, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division Sgt. Eric Clegg

Paramedics started CPR as they rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was later pronounced dead, Clegg said. He added that the shooting proceeded some sort of altercation in the middle of the street, and road rage is a suspected motivator in the case.

However, detectives are still trying to track down witnesses and any possible surveillance video to determine what happened.

Clegg said deputies found alcohol inside the truck, although it was not clear if it’s related to the shooting.
