Man shot in chest in Old East Dallas, police say


Police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest Sunday morning in Old East Dallas.
Officers were called to 3320 Samuell Boulevard after a shooting was reported, but the people involved had left by the time police arrived, police said.
Two victims fled to the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive in Lake Highlands, about 10 miles away, police said. They called 911 about 9:30 a.m.
One of the victims had a gunshot wound to his chest and was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital for treatment. Police said his condition was unknown.
Police did not specify whether the other person suffered any injuries in the shooting.
No information about what led to the shooting or who was responsible was released.
Police Search for Gunman After Man Shot in Chest
Dallas police are looking for the person who opened fire on two people Sunday morning, injuring one of them.
According to Dallas police, officers were called to a shooting on the 3300 block of Samuel Boulevard, just south of Samuell-Grand Park, but when they arrived the found the victims had traveled nearly eight miles away to the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive, near Interstate 635 and Skillman, to call 911.
When officers met with the victims they confirmed one of them had been shot in the chest and immediately transported that person to an area hospital. That person’s condition is not known.
Police did not say whether the second person was injured in the shooting.
Police have release no information about the suspected gunman or what may have led to the shooting. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
