Man wanted on parole violation punches through drywall during 7-hour standoff with Carrollton police

Carrollton police led a 41-year-old man away in handcuffs Tuesday night after a seven-hour standoff at a residential complex.

Police were called to the Rosemeade Townhomes in the 1100 block of East Branch Hollow on a tip that a man wanted on a parole violation was there with a motorcycle that had allegedly been stolen, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.

The man, Marvin James Jr., punched through the drywall of his girlfriend’s townhouse and entered the connecting home in attempts to get away from police, the station reported

James was taken safely into custody by 8:30 p.m., police said.

James, who was wanted on a parole violation warrant, was also charged with evading arrest, burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief and a theft-related charge, KTVT reported.

He has a criminal history including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and assault on a public servant with a weapon, police said
