Morning showers followed by sunshine this morning

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A broken line of showers is moving across the area this morning, dropping some heavy rain in places.

We’ll dry out and temperatures will warm up this afternoon.

There will be a big drop in the humidity, but abundant sunshine will push temperatures up near average with a high of 86. The nice weather will continue into Thursday with some Houston area neighborhoods dipping into the 50s before warming back up into the 80s.

Another front is scheduled to arrive just ahead of Mother’s Day weekend. This front will arrive Friday afternoon and looks a bit stronger than our current front. It should knock high temps down into the 70s Saturday with a rebound to around 80 degrees for Mother’s Day. The humidity will also come crashing down, allowing morning lows into the 50s.
