PM Imran’s sister Aleema Khan owns Rs450 million property in US: report

Aleema Khan, the sister of Prime Minister Imran Khan, owns an expensive property in the northeastern US state of New Jersey is worth more than Rs 450 million, according to a report in local media.

The property, which remained undeclared till 2017, was bought in 2004, it was disclosed by investigative reporter Ahmed Noorani during a Pakistan current affairs programme “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzad Kay Sath” last night.

According to Noorani, Aleema owns three flats of a four-storey building (154 Sixth Street, Hoboken, New Jersey 07030), while her business partner owns a single flat
The reporter claimed the property’s deed read that it was bought for $0.758 million on August 5, 2004 with the Book 7355 having residential class. The original Book Deed of Property, exclusively obtained by this correspondent, revealed that Aleema Khan bought this property in 2004 with a 25% partnership of her friend Samina Sultana in the United States.

The property was purchased from Keith Prebola who bought this property in 1999, revealed the 36-page Property Book.

She had not disclosed it to the tax authorities till November 12, 2017, the report further claimed.
On Jan 1, the Supreme Court was informed that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recovered Rs67 million from Pakistani citizens holding undisclosed foreign bank accounts and properties abroad.

During the proceedings, the FBR informed the bench that Aleema Khan has not yet paid taxes/fine Rs29.4 million, however she could pay it till January 13. Chief Justice Saqib Nisar observed that money should be recovered so country’s economy could further improve.

“We are entrusting FBR with the responsibility to bring wealth back to the country,” Justice Nisar remarked.

Earlier this week, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry revealed that Aleema Khan is in cotton export business for past 20 years.

The PTI minister made such revelations while talking to Hamid Mir in Geo News programme ‘Capital Talk’.
