PM Khan sent Shaukat Khanum doctors to confirm Nawaz Sharif’s illness: Khurram Dastagir

PML-N leader Khurram Dastagir Khan on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan sent two doctors from the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMH ) to verify whether former prime minister Nawaz Sharif needed to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Dastagir made the revelation during a television talk show with journalist Adil Shahzeb. According to the former defence minister, the government of PM Imran made six attempts to verify Sharif’s illness. Two doctors from SKMH were sent to check up on Nawaz, Dastagir added.

The PML-N, as yet, has refused to furnish a surety bond — the government’s demand to remove Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List, which currently keeps him from travelling abroad for treatment. The party has termed the demand unconstitutional.

Sharif is suffering from several ailments and doctors have recommended that he travel abroad for treatment. The former PM is currently out on bail while serving a prison sentence for involvement in a corruption scandal.
