Police credit resident for arrests of Willow Creek Farms burglary suspects

A pair of suspects are now facing charges of burglary of a motor vehicle, with credit for their arrests going to an alert resident of a local subdivision.

The suspects are Oscar Resendez, 23; Rodolfo Gonzalez, 23; and Marco Hernandez, 20, of Katy.

According to a Katy Police Department news release, about 2:20 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, “the Katy Police Department received a call from an alert citizen in the Willow Creek Farms subdivision.”

According to Police Chief Noe Diaz Jr., the man stated he observed two subjects on his home surveillance system and that they appeared to be checking door handles on his vehicle parked in his driveway.

Patrol Officers responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop on a dark-colored Mazda four-door car that was reportedly seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed, Diaz said in the news release.

“Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the three occupants, two of which matched the description given by the homeowner,” Katy police reported. “Two occupants, along with the driver, were taken into custody.”
