Police: Man drowns in crabbing accident in Seabrook

A man reportedly drowned while retrieving a crab trap in Seabrook early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Seabrook police were called at 3 a.m. to the 1300 block of Main Street.

Investigators reported that a man and his adult son went crabbing when the father went to retrieve a trap and was taken by a strong current.

The son told police that he tried to pull his father from the water but was unable to do so.

Authorities recovered the man’s body off the 1500 block of Todville Road at 11:05 a.m. Saturday.

The man’s name has not been released, as this time while the case remains under investigation
