Police Search for Suspected Shooter Who Fled Scene in Anna

Police are searching for a suspected shooter who they believe injured one person early Thursday morning, police said. At about 6 a.m., police told Anna residents to remain in their homes, but they are now safe to leave their homes.

The victim called 911 after being shot in the abdomen and was in surgery as of 5 a.m., police said. The suspect fled the scene in a red passenger car, polcie said.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. in the street of a Avery Pointe subdivision near Chapel Hill Drive and Cedar Canyon Drive, police said.

Police believe the suspected shooter and victim knew each other. Police are investigating the circumstances of what led to the shooting, police said.
