Police: Tomball-area mother accused of shooting at crowd of fighting teens, injuring boy, identified

The mother accused of opening fire into a group of scuffling teenagers has been identified as 31-year-old Precious Folks.

Folks was arrested Friday after allegedly shooting a 16-year-old boy involved in a fight outside her home in the 20300 block of Yosemite Falls Drive near Tomball. The boy was among a group of up to 20 others who followed Folks’ daughter home from school and started bickering back and forth with the girl just before 5 p.m., according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman

That back-and-forth turned into a physical altercation, deputies said, at which point a gun-toting Folks stepped off her front porch and opened fire into the crowd, striking a boy in the ankle. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, although he underwent surgery.

Deputies detained Folks and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the shooting, Herman’s office said.

She was booked and released on a $40,000 bond.
