DUBAI: Karachi Kings thrashed Lahore Qalandars by five wickets in the 20th match of Pakistan Super League 2019 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed smashed 33 runs off 25 balls with two boundaries and six to ease Karachi Kings’ 134 run-chase after an initial stutter.
Karachi Kings opted to bowl first and restricted Lahore Qalandars to 133 runs in the second fixture. AB de Villiers with his 33 runs innings off 32 balls remained the highest scorer for the Qalandars. While Sohail Akhtar contributed unbeaten 29 runs in the death overs of the innings.
Karachi’s bowlers sensibly bawled to restrict Qalanadars to a meager total of 133, Iftikhar Ahmed took two wickets while skipper Imad Wasim, Muhammad Aamir and Umer Khan took one each.

Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lahore Qalandars in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday night.

The 20th T20 match in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday night.
Both teams had previously clashed on February 16 at Dubai where the Kings emerged the victorious by 27 runs.
Now both teams are behind all other four teams at points table securing four points each with Lahore having an edge over Karachi on run rate basis.
Both have won two matches and lost three out of their five outings in the first phase.
The highest total Lahore Qalandars made in the PSL4 is 204/4 (against Multan Sultans on February 22 at Sharjah). This is also a record total in the history of PSL. The highest total by Karachi Kings is 188/4 (vs Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah on February 24).
The most runs scored by any batsman for Lahore Qalandars are 177 which AB De Villiers made in five matches at an average of 59 with one fifty.
For Karachi Kings, it was Colin Ingram, who made 170 runs in five matches at an average of 42.50 with one hundred. He scored an unbeaten 127 off just 59 balls against Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah on February 24. This is not only the best score in the event but also the only century in the tournament.
The highest individual score for Lahore Qalandars is 65 by Fakhar Zaman from 44 balls made against Islamabad United at Dubai in the opening match of the PSL4.
Pacer Haris Rauf is the highest wicket-taker for Lahore Qalandars. He has grabbed ten wickets at an average of 14.70 with one haul of four wickets in an innings.
For Karachi Kings, left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir took the most wickets – 7 (ave 20.28) with one four wicket haul.
However, the best bowling performance for Lahore Qalandars was displayed by an 18-year-old off-spinner from Nepal Sandeep Lamichhane who captured four wickets for 10 runs against Quetta Gladiators at Dubai on February 27. This is also a PSL record.
