Rangers recover Rs30m currency from crash site

KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh have found over Rs30 million burnt Pakistani currency notes from the plane crash site in Model Colony, says a recent statement issued by the paramilitary force.

The statement adds that the cash and valuables found from the site were handed over to the Pakistan International Airlines at Rangers Headquarters, Jamia Millia College. The PIA officials, the statement said, praised the role of the Rangers in the rescue operation.

“The valuables included over Rs30 million burnt Pakistani currency,” said the statement. “Other cash included more than Rs1.6 million. The recovered foreign currency included 70 Pound Sterling and US $625. The other items recovered from the crash site included mobile phones, laptops, iPhones, electronic items, gold and artificial jewelery, various household items, handbags, travel bags, ladies and gents purses, passports and valuables.”
