Records: 44 arrested on felony DWI charges in Bexar County in April 2019

San Antonio-area law enforcement agencies arrested 44 people on felony drunken driving charges in April 2019, court records showed.

Suspects were arrested on charges that include intoxication assault, intoxication manslaughter, driving while intoxicated with a child and a third or more DWI offense.

Joseph Robles, 38, faces the most serious charges. On April 20, Robles was allegedly involved in a fatal crash on Highway 181 near Green Lake Street.

Three were killed in the crash while one person was seriously injured. Robles is charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault.

Here are the number of charges broken down for March. Some people may be facing multiple charges:

  • Intoxication assault (third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison): 3
  • Intoxication manslaughter (second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison): 3
  • Driving while intoxicated — with child passenger under 15 years old (state jail felony punishable by up to two years in prison): 12
  • Driving while intoxicated — third or more (third-degree felony): 29

A mugshot for Alejandra Ortega, who was charged on April 5 with intoxication assault, was not available, according to Bexar County Jail officials.
