Severe storms possible Tuesday northwest of Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Showers and thunderstorms return to parts of southeast Texas on Tuesday. An isolated storm northwest of Houston could turn severe.

You’ll notice it feels more humid when you step outside Tuesday. Southeasterly winds will keep morning temperatures from dropping into the 50s again. As temperatures warm into the mid 80s, a small disturbance moving in from West Texas will bring a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. Communities northwest of Houston are most favored to get any rain, and many places will stay dry.

By Thursday it will feel more like summer with humid lows in the 70s and heat index readings in the 90s. Chances for heavy thunderstorms will increase over the weekend as a large upper-level storm system blows over Texas. The rain could get heavy at times and drop 1-3″ over most of southeast Texas.
