Shooting that left 2 men dead at different locations in Channelview believed to be drug related

Deputies believe a shooting that left two men dead at different locations in Channelview may have been related to drugs, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Deputies initially responded to the shooting around 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 16300 block of Pecan Street.Gonzalez said unknown suspects forced their way into the home and gunfire erupted

The motive appears to be “some type of drug rip,” he said.

One man was found dead inside the home, along with evidence of drugs, Gonzalez said. While investigating that scene, deputies learned of a second dead man about a mile and a half away in the 15200 block of Market Street.

Deputies received the call as an auto-pedestrian crash, but they found the man with a gunshot wound to the torso when they arrived on the scene.

Gonzalez said deputies believe the two scenes are related to the same shooting. Investigators are looking for multiple suspects who were seen running from the home, he said. They’re specifically looking for a white pickup that was seen driving from the location.
