Shooting victim dies after friend drives him to hospital, Dallas police say

A shooting victim died after a friend took him to a hospital Saturday night.

Police were called to the Methodist Dallas Medical Center about 8:10 p.m., after the friend drove the victim to the emergency room, authorities said.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Juan Manuel de la Rosa Arredondo.

Authorities provided few details about the shooting.

Police said they’d been told de la Rosa had been sitting in the back seat of a vehicle at a west Oak Cliff car wash when someone approached and shot him through an open driver’s side window and fled on foot.

No suspects were in custody Sunday morning, police said.
