Speeding Porsche Veers Off Dallas Exit Ramp, 2 Dead: Police

Two men were killed Wednesday night in a crash that shut down Central Expressway overnight in downtown Dallas, police say.

According to police, the men were heading eastbound on Woodall Rodgers Freeway in a black Porsche 911 when at 8:44 p.m., the driver lost control on the ramp to northbound Central Expressway. The car sideswiped a Nissan Juke, also traveling on the northbound exit ramp, fell from the ramp and landed upside down on Central Expressway. The car then slid down the freeway before coming to a stop, police said.

Police said officers found the driver, a 34-year-old man from Plano, and the front passenger, a 42-year-old man from Rowlett, deceased inside the upturned vehicle. The identities of the deceased have not been released.

A 21-year-old woman driving the Nissan and a 3-month-old child in the back seat were both transported to hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

Investigators said the Porsche was speeding at the time of the crash.

Northbound Central Expressway was closed at North Hall Street as investigators examined the scene and debris was cleared. All lanes have since reopened.
