Strong cold front coming

A strong cold front will move through our area today generating some showers and thunderstorms.

The front will move through DFW by 10 a.m. this morning. High temperatures will occur during the morning hours, and then fall into the 40s by late afternoon, making it feel more like February. North winds will increase to 10 to 20 mph. The most likely area for widespread and potentially severe storms will be south of the DFW area in Central Texas.

The active weather continues this weekend into next week. Saturday will be cloudy and cool with a few showers from time to time, but also several dry hours. The rain chances will extend into Monday, followed by a significant warming trend through mid-week.

· Today: Cloudy with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High: 68, but temperatures will fall into the 40s during the afternoon. Wind: S to N 10-20 mph.

· Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low: 42. Wind: N 10-15 mph.

· Saturday: Cloudy and cool with a 60% chance of showers. High: 56. Wind: N 10-15 mph.

· Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of thunderstorms. Low: 55. High: 71. Wind: SE 5-15 mph.

· Monday: Mostly cloudy and warmer with a 60% chance of thunderstorms. Low: 64. High: 78. Wind: SE 10-15 mph.

· Tuesday: Partly cloudy and warm. Low: 68. High: 84. Wind: S 10 mph.

· Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Low: 68. High: 86. Wind: S 10-15 mph.

· Thursday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of a storm. Low: 63. High: 79. Wind: NE 10-15 mph.

· Friday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of a storm. Low: 62. High: 77. Wind: E 10-15 mph.

· Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Low: 58. High: 75. Wind: SE 10-20 mph.
