Suspect accused of giving girl STDs among 34 arrested, indicted on child sex crimes in May

Bexar County law enforcement agencies arrested or indicted 34 people on child sex crime charges in May, according to court records.

The suspects were charged with a an array of crimes, including indecency with a child, possession of child pornography, sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child and super aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Juan Martinez and Hermilo Chavez were indicted on a super aggravated sexual assault of a child charge in May. The charge is levied against suspects accused of sexually assaulting children younger than 6 or if the suspect is accused of violently sexually assaulting a child younger than 14.

Gregory Alexander was indicted on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child. In June 2018, Alexander allegedly crept into the bedroom window of an 11-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her.

Also indicted in May for aggravated sexual assault of a child is Drevon Perkins. He is accused of infecting a 3-year-old girl with STDs after sexually assaulting her.

In 2019, Bexar County authorities have arrested or indicted 164 people with child sex crimes, records show.

Mugshots for Elijah Paul Kelley, indicted for indecency with a child, Francisco Sosa and Robert Redd, both indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child, were not available, according to jail officials.
