These 16 Texas dads (and moms) owe $1.2M in child support, records show

About a dozen dads in Texas may not be celebrating Father’s Day. That’s because they have been busy dodging child support payments, according to state officials.

Sixteen Texas parents owe a combined $1.2 million in child support, according to records from the Texas Attorney General’s Office

The parents – 14 fathers and two mothers – are listed on the attorney general’s list of child support evaders, people who have open arrest warrants for allegedly failing to pay child support. While financial troubles might plague some parents who owe child support, the AG’s office makes sure its list of child support evaders are not involved in any bankruptcy proceedings or benefiting from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

Of the 16 parents on the list, six owe more than $100,000 each, records show.
