Two fall fronts on the way to Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two fall fronts are on the way to Houston next week, and the weekend is looking pretty good, too.

The clouds will hold thick through the night, preventing temperatures from falling much. Lows in the upper 60s will be common by sunrise. We should get more breaks in the clouds Friday afternoon, allowing temperatures to climb back above 80.

Generally pleasant weather will continue Saturday with lows in the mid 60s and highs in the mid 80s. A stray shower cannot be ruled out, but most will stay dry.

There’s a slightly better chance for isolated showers Sunday with slightly warmer temperatures, too.

It now appears that the cool front arriving Monday will be considerably stronger than originally thought. This means there will be a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms as it blows in and then a stronger cool down behind it. Temperatures will make a run for 90 degrees Monday before the front arrives. By Tuesday afternoon it’ll be sunny with highs only in the 70s. A second front arriving Thursday will reinforce the nice air, giving us several mornings in the 50s and afternoons in the 70s. And that’s with sunshine!
