Two people killed, more critically injured in Chambers County boat collision

Two people were killed and two more critically injured when a pair of pleasure crafts collided Sunday night in Chambers County, according to authorities.

A ski boat and a bass fishing vessel collided around 7:30 p.m. in the Old and Lost River near Interstate 10, Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said

There were believed to be at least eight to 10 people involved with the crash, but Hawthorne said the operator of one of the vessels was unsure how passengers were on board. The wreckage was just outside the city of Cove, about five miles southeast of Mont Belvieu.
