U.S. marshals arrest fugitive accused of ‘wreaking havoc’ across Dallas-Fort Worth

Authorities have captured a fugitive sought in a crime spree of robberies and burglaries spanning multiple cities.

Eric Johnson, 33, was taken into custody about 1 p.m. Friday at a hotel in the 8000 block of LBJ Freeway in Dallas.

“The days of this fugitive wreaking havoc in the metroplex area are over,” said U.S. Marshal Richard Taylor, whose North Texas Fugitive Task Force made the arrest.

The spree included more than 20 armed robberies and between 70 and 100 burglaries in jurisdictions including Fort Worth, Euless, Irving and Grand Prairie.

The U.S. Marshals Service aids state and local agencies in locating and apprehending fugitives who are deemed most violent.
