Widespread rain returns well into Sunday

After a quiet start to the weekend, the rain is back. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to spread northward across all of North Texas this evening into the overnight hours. No severe weather is expected, but lightning and some heavy rain will be possible.

The rain will linger into Sunday with patchy areas of drizzle through the morning. Skies will remain overcast and cloudy through the day with highs in the 60s.

Monday begins dry, followed by a low chance of showers and thunderstorms by the evening. Most of the storms will stay north of Dallas-Fort Worth. Things will begin to dry out Tuesday and look to remain mostly sunny and warm for the upcoming week. Wednesday and Thursday will be the warmest days of the week with highs near 90.
