Residents interested in public safety and local resources can learn more about local policies and issues at the annual Community Safety Expo this fall.

The event, set for slated for noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 5, is sponsored by The Woodlands Township along with numerous regional partners such as the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Hospital District. The event will be hosted at Alight Solutions office complex, which is adjacent to Northshore Park at 9500 Lakeside Boulevard

The event is coordinated by the township’s Neighborhood Watch and is done in conjunction with National Night Out, which this year is scheduled for Oct. 13, at multiple locations throughout The Woodlands.

Marian Leck, the director of law enforcement services for The Woodlands Township, said the event has been a stalwart in the community for many years, noting that the township has been celebrating National Night Out since 1990. The event, which will include representatives from the Shenandoah and Oak Ridge North police departments, The Woodlands Fire Department, and many other agencies, is about creating a better community for all, she added
