Houston police release sketch of suspect in fatal shooting at NW Houston apartment

Police released a sketch of a suspect accused of fatally shooting a man and wounding a woman at a northwest Houston apartment Sunday.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 40s, about 5-feet 9-inches tall with an average build. He was wearing a muscle shirt with gray sweatpants or shorts at the time of the shooting, police said.

He is accused of fatally shooting Marlin Jordan, 26, and wounding Maya Brashier, 19, outside their apartment in the 7400 block of Hillmont Street around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said Jordan and Brashier were returning home from work when the armed suspect approached them and demanded money. He shot Jordan and then Brashier before taking her purse and backpack, police said. He then fled the scene.

Police also released a photo of Brashier’s stolen purse and backpack.
