4 teens shot in overnight ambush at southeast Houston apartment complex

Four teenagers were struck by gunfire in an apparent ambush at a southeast Houston apartment complex overnight.

An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were hanging out in a stairwell at the complex in the 5600 block of Royal Palms Street around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Four males – armed with rifles and pistols – walked through the complex’s pedestrian gate and shot the teens, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said two other 16-year-old girls were also shot, although it is unclear if they were with the other two or in another part of the complex.

Police did not have detailed descriptions of the suspects as of late Thursday morning. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
