Punjab CM says opposition move to oust Sanjrani will boomerang

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will support Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and the opposition parties can’t remove him.

“The opposition will lose in its movement of mistrust against the Senate chairman,” he said.

In a rare move of issuing a political statement here on Sunday, the chief minister said the opposition parties’ politics was based on chaos and anarchy and pursuing their negative agenda. He stressed that this was the time that the opposition parties should mend their ways.

He said the opposition played a vital role in democratic countries but unfortunately in Pakistan the opposition parties had “always promoted negative politics.”

Mr Buzdar said the Senate chairman had the support of majority in House and added that this opposition’s move would fail.

He said the whole nation was well aware of the fact that Mr Sanjrani had always followed democratic and parliamentarian traditions. He said the tactics of opposition parties would boomerang.

FAKHAR IMAM: Kashmir Committee chairman Syed Fakhar Imam called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and spoke about Indian atrocity against the people of Kashmir.

The chief minister condemned the Indian atrocities and said such tactics would not suppress the freedom right of Kashmiri people.

The unarmed people of Kashmir, he said, were keeping freedom movement alive. He said that there was no justification of silence of the international community on this inhuman act.

Mr Imam said freedom is the fundamental right of the Kashmiri people and the international community needs to wake up.
