A woman who fled from police and was struck by multiple vehicles in southeast Houston is being treated for her injuries, police said.
Houston Police Vice Commander James Dales said officers were conducting an undercover operation after receiving reports of complaints of prostitution. During their investigation, they detained a female, who later fled from the vehicle, Dale said.
The woman, who is believed to be about 22 years old, fled from the officers, ran across the Gulf Freeway service road and was struck by two vehicles, Dale said.
She is currently undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.
