Food delivery driver shot in attempted robbery in West Dallas

A food delivery driver was wounded in an attempted armed robbery late Sunday night in West Dallas, officials said.

The incident took place just after 10 p.m. in the 3000 block of Elm Street, according to Dallas police. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, said she had dropped off a food delivery and was walking back to her car when two teens approached her and demanded her property.

The woman froze out of fear, she told police, and one of the suspects shot her in the leg. The suspects, who she described as 16 to 17 years old, fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another person.

They did not take any of the woman’s possessions. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
