Cruise ship passenger missing off Texas coast

Authorities are searching for a cruise ship passenger who apparently jumped from the boat in the waters off South Texas.

The incident took place Thursday evening about 47 miles southeast of Galveston, where Carnival Dream officials said ship camera footage appeared to show the 26-year-old man leaping from his stateroom balcony, ABC News reported.

“They were calling a name out for quite a while, several times, on the intercom,” passenger Darrell Byer told the network. “And then they said, we have a man overboard.”

Multiple ships, along with an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, were helping with the search as Carnival’s onboard care team tended to the missing guest’s family.
