3 students in custody after online threat targets Lancaster High

Three students are in police custody after officials said they shared an online threat targeting Lancaster High School.

A social media post was shared Monday, according to Lancaster ISD. Details weren’t provided about the post’s contents.

Three students were taken into custody Tuesday morning, officials said, and the district is assisting police with their investigation.

Lancaster High School had additional security measures in place Tuesday.

The school was one of several Dallas-Fort Worth area schools to receive threats over the weekend and early Monday. Schools in Duncanville, Dallas, Fort Worth and Everman were also targeted.

Two Duncanville ISD students were detained in Dallas County’s juvenile justice center on terroristic threat charges Monday after officials learned of a threat made on Instagram. Duncanville ISD officials said the threat was a hoax.

Police also searched Village Tech Charter School in Duncanville on Tuesday afternoon after a bullet was found in the cafeteria. Police provided additional security at the school while officials searched the building and students, officials said. No students were harmed, and classes dismissed at their normal time.
