Dallas police made two arrests Tuesday in a pair of separate homicides.
Daylon Reason, 24, was arrested in connection with the Nov. 2 shooting death of 29-year-old Cedric MacDonald, who was killed while driving on West Ledbetter Drive in the Red Bird area.
A witness in the car with MacDonald described the suspect’s vehicle to police, and the manager of a nearby shopping center shared surveillance video footage that helped identify Reason, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Reason faces a murder charge and is in Dallas County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Also on Tuesday, police arrested Antonio Dunn, 34, in connection with the Nov. 1 death of 55-year-old Henry Crayton, who was found in the 3100 block of Great Trinity Forest Way near the border of east Oak Cliff and southeast Oak Cliff.
Dunn, who faces a murder charge and is in Dallas County Jail on $100,000 bond, told detectives he killed Crayton in self-defense, police said.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Crayton was shot after he left a convenience store when the suspect accused him of exposing his genitalia to his children. The two then headed to a grassy lot across the street, where Crayton produced a knife and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him at least three times.
Detectives identified the suspect by visiting the shopping center and passing around still images of security camera footage, according to the affidavit.
