The Denton County Sheriff’s Department obtained a murder warrant for Kyrstin Danea Ross, 27, on Friday and took her into custody early Sunday in the Wise County town of Alvord.

Tanner Lane Brock, 21, was arrested Nov. 8 on a murder charge in the slaying. The sheriff’s office said that Ross is an “associate” of Brock.

Jade Harris, 20, had last been seen Oct. 25, and relatives reported her missing Nov. 3 after her estranged husband found her car abandoned in Carrollton. Her body was found several hours later on the bank of Denton Creek near Ponder.

Harris’ mother, Sorena Herrington, told the Denton Record-Chronicle that her daughter had dated Brock and that he had viciously attacked her several years ago. Court records show that he pleaded guilty to a domestic-violence assault charge in Cooke County in 2016.

Ross and Brock both remain in custody at the Denton County jail, with bail set at $500,000 each.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Harris’ family, which includes a 2-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.
