Man injured in shooting during robbery attempt, Dallas police say

A man was shot during an attempted robbery as he was walking to his car at a grocery store Tuesday night in west Oak Cliff, Dallas police said.

The shooting was reported around 9:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Westmoreland Road, police said, and the man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

When police arrived, a suspect had been tackled by security officers and was in handcuffs after witnesses pointed him out.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
