Purse-snatchers use stun gun to rob 71-year-old woman in Burleson

Burleson police are asking for the public’s help identifying three purse-snatchers who used a stun gun to rob a 71-year-old woman last week.

The victim was leaving her car about 9:45 a.m. Nov. 27 when two women approached her in the parking lot of a Ross store on Interstate 35W. They shocked her and took her purse before fleeing in a white Dodge Journey SUV with a man, police said.

One was a white woman wearing a light-colored shirt and a dark coat, and the other was a black woman wearing all black. Officers believe the man was inside the SUV when the attack occurred, KXAS-TV (Channel 5) reports.

KXAS-TV (NBC5) said officers have surveillance footage of the attackers from Arlington and Mansfield stores where the victim’s credit cards were used after the robbery.

Burleson police said they have increased patrolling in the area and other key shopping areas.

Authorities encourage those who have information on the case to contact Detective T. Mabry at 817-426-9883 or tmabry@burlesontx.com.
