1 dead after shooting in Vickery Meadow neighborhood of northeast Dallas

A man is dead after a shooting Sunday afternoon in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood of northeast Dallas.

Officers were called about 1:40 p.m. to the scene of the shooting in the 7000 block of Hemlock Avenue, near Park Lane, according to police call records.

Police said the victim, a man in his 20s, had been arguing with someone at the 24 Hours Store on Park Lane before another person shot the victim.

Authorities did not provide any information about the suspects but said they fled the location in a vehicle.

The victim, whose name was not released, died at the scene. He was found lying on the ground in front of a dumpster and had been shot multiple times.

Police said the victim was wearing a camouflage jacket and that he did not have any identification on his person. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office was working to identify him, police said.

No one was in custody as of Sunday night, police said.
