Balochistan’s development priority of federal govt, says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government is giving top priority to the development of Balochistan and working to provide better opportunities of employment to the youth of the province.

“The federal government is committed to assisting the provincial government in every possible way in the construction and development of Balochistan,” the prime minister said while talking to a delegation of lawmakers from Balochistan on Friday.

The delegation included Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mohammad Qasim Khan, Member of the National Assembly Mir Mohammad Khan Jamali, Member of National Assembly Manora Munir, Member of Provincial Assembly Mir Niamatullah, Sardar Babar Musa Khel, Zahida Bibi, Omar Jamali, Naseebullah Khan and Mohammad Mabin Khan Khalji.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the overall situation in Balochistan, development issues and problems being faced by the people of the province.

The lawmakers informed the prime minister about matters related to their constituencies.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khan said that improving the lives of the people of Balochistan and their socio-economic development was top priority of the government.

He said that in the wake of the prevailing economic crisis, the government was working hard to speed up industrial process and provide jobs to the youth of Balochistan.

The government’s comprehensive social protection programmes of Ehsaas and health card would help the people of Balochistan, especially poverty-stricken families,” he added.
