Police investigate after female found dead in alley in The Colony

Police in The Colony are investigating after a person was found dead in an alley Sunday morning.

Officers were called about 7:45 a.m. about a female who appeared to be unconscious in the alley, in the 5200 block of Strickland Avenue, Sgt. Aaron Woodard said.

Paramedics with The Colony Fire Department responded and determined the person was dead. Police said her identity had not been determined, and authorities did not release any other details about her.

Asked whether police suspected foul play, Woodard said authorities deem it suspicious “finding a deceased person in an alleyway out in the public.” But police did not specify whether the case was being investigated as a homicide.
