1 dead, 2 wounded in shooting in northwest Dallas, police say

One man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Monday morning in northwest Dallas, police said.

Officers were called just before 7 a.m. to a motel in the 2600 block of Royal Lane, near Interstate 35E, where they found 34-year-old Kerry Jones dead inside a room. He had been shot multiple times.

Two other men were found with multiple gunshot wounds: 37-year-old Michael Rosa was lying on the motel-room floor near the door, and 27-year-old Cameron Blakely was outside near the motel entrance. Both were taken to a hospital.

No suspects were in custody, and homicide detectives were canvassing the area, police said.

No information about what led to the shooting was released.
