Cigarette-stealing suspects lead officers on pursuit from Arlington to Fort Worth

A pair of robbery suspects are facing charges after an early morning pursuit that stretched from Arlington to Fort Worth Friday.

The incident began around 2:30 a.m. at a convenience store at Mayfield and Fielder roads, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.

According to Arlington police, the two were found swiping cigarettes at the location but the suspects were able to get into a vehicle and flee the scene.

The pursuit continued from Cooper Street onto westbound Interstate 20 and finally onto north Highway 287.

The suspects eventually crashed near Miller Avenue after apparently losing control of the vehicle and striking a guard rail.

Both were apprehended at the scene.
