A 15-year-old boy arrested in connection with the shooting of an 18-year-old man at a high school basketball last week faces a murder charge after the victim died Saturday, Dallas police said.
Marc Strickland died about 3 p.m., police said. According to a report by KDFW-TV (Channel 4), he died shortly after being removed from life support.
Strickland was shot during a boys basketball game between Kimball and South Oak Cliff high schools on Jan. 11 in the Red Bird area.
According to police, the shooting stemmed from an argument that escalated. Video shows people scrambling out of Ellis Davis Field House after multiple shots were heard inside.
A Dallas ISD police officer was grazed by a bullet fragment during the incident.
The suspect, whose name has not been released because he is a juvenile, remains in custody, police said.
