3 in custody, 1 at-large in Allen shooting, police say

A 39-year-old man was shot Friday at an Allen apartment complex, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.

Police told the station the shooting was reported after 1 p.m. in the 500 block of East Exchange Parkway, near Allen High School. Police said they believed the man was visiting a friend when he was shot.

Three people were taken into custody, and one person was still at large, police told NBC5.

Live video showed police searching the area by vehicle, helicopter and on foot with dogs.

Police did not provide details about the victim’s condition. Police also did not provide additional information about those taken into custody.

Allen High School and Lowery Freshmen Center were placed on lockdown, according to Tim Carroll, a spokesman for Allen ISD. Students are to remain inside the school and visitors can not enter until the lockout is lifted, Carroll said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the shooting.
