Brett Kevin Yzquierdo, 29, was booked into the Collin County jail Thursday and posted $25,000 bond Friday, jail records show. He was arrested by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department.

No further details about the charge against him were available, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Yzquierdo had been a choir teacher at Reedy High School since August.

Frisco ISD said in a statement that he had been placed on administrative leave after school officials learned of his arrest and that there was no indication that the allegation involves Frisco ISD students.

“Allegations and charges of this nature are disturbing, and the district takes these matters very seriously,” the statement said. “The safety of every FISD student is our top priority.”

Yzquierdo has no apparent previous criminal history. Before working in the Frisco ISD, he taught at a high school in Tecumseh, Mich.
