According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department, Michael Sherrod Walker Jr. and Atiyeh Chatmon, both 23, ended their relationship over the weekend.

Then on Tuesday, a phone call between the two became heated. Walker then went to Chatmon’s job in the 1900 block of Golden Heights Road in Haslet and continued the argument, authorities said.

Just before 6 p.m., Walker shot Chatmon in the chest and fled, the sheriff’s department said. She died about two hours later at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Authorities say Walker is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 817-884-1213 and should not approach him.

“We have our team of investigators on this,” Sheriff Bill Waybourn said in a written statement. “We know who he is, and we are working every angle to locate him and bring him to justice.”
